Our client, a manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment, is seeking a Director of Marketing.
The Marketing Director is responsible for the strategic direction and comprehensive growth plan for the North America (primarily US and Canada) marketing organization.
This includes designing, implementing and monitoring effective local marketing strategies that align with the region’s business goals and the Global Marketing Category Strategies. Within the region.
This role leads and directs internal marketing teams and partners with other functions that include Global Marketing and the R&D team to deliver profitable growth.
Responsibilities:
- Drive regional category strategy and marketing plan development that is aligned with the global strategy and guidelines. This includes end user and customer centric product portfolio management and the execution of the 4P’s of marketing. Product lifecycle, regular and promotional pricing, placement or Go To Market, implementation of promotion and communication
- Contribute to the development of the global strategic category plans via involvement with the Global Category Teams
- Gather regional information on end user, healthcare trends, industry insights, reimbursement / health systems and competitive intelligence
- Responsible for annual, quarterly, monthly and interim performance metric reporting; participate in annual strategic planning and budgeting process
- Direct the development and maintenance of long-range operational forecasts regarding volume, market share, financial requirements, human resource needs, organizational plans, etc., and monitor the projected effects of these forecasts on business unit investment, revenues, and profit.
- Provide leadership to the marketing organization and support the North America commercial team to have the understanding and tools to effectively commercialize and market the current portfolio of products to achieve sales and margin requirements and to effectively compete
- Consistently monitor the regional categories` product portfolio performance and adjust marketing and operational strategies in close collaboration with markets and leadership teams for both existing business and New Products
- Responsible for the pricing function to maximize gross margin and contribution, working closely with Sales Operations, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams. Ensure system-pricing accuracy.
- Manage parts, service, and aftermarket offerings to maximize profit and customer satisfaction.
- Implement regional Communication plans aligned with the global Communication strategy
- Enhance team leadership and development by coaching regional teams to transfer product category vision and knowledge
- Prioritize marketing projects and allocate resources accordingly
- Accountable for the regional P&L of the categories and assigned marketing budgets
- Create a high-performance culture and reinforce Invacare’s values and expected leadership behaviors throughout the organization.
- Assure compliance with Invacare’s policies as well as adherence to industry and business code of conduct and ethics adapted by Invacare.
- Develop a team environment that values inclusion and incorporates diverse perspectives and viewpoints to the benefit of the team.
- Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by direct reports.
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree. MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive marketing and sales experience including managing a P&L and delivering profitable growth, preferably in a global medical device company
- Success in developing and implementing 5P marketing and sales strategies. Direct to Consumers and ecommerce knowledge is an additional benefit
- Strong team player who is self-motivated and can navigate through ambiguity and drive change
- Present a vision that motivates an organization and drives performance through others.
- Excellent understanding of communication and online and offline marketing platforms and metrics.
- Demonstrated history of Digital Communication Marketing tools including websites, social channels, E-platforms, CRM, SEM/SEO, UX concept is a plus
- Proven ability to develop deep and lasting relationships with key stakeholders across the region and market.
- Work effectively in a team-based organization, collaborates cross functionally, exercises influence at senior levels, and build alignment around key objectives.
