Job Title: Group Disability Underwriter

Location: Remote

As a Disability Financial Underwriter, you will:

  • Prepare offers for prospective and renewal clients for Short Term and Long Term Disability plans.
  • Provide rationale and support to Sales, clients, and internal teams regarding risk selection, financial analysis, rate computations, and financial activity.
  • Develop expense estimates and conduct thorough analysis of financial exhibits.
  • Understand and apply department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.
  • Make independent decisions regarding work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, seeking guidance when needed.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of Short Term and Long Term Disability underwriting and risk analysis experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management.
  • Knowledge of the competitor landscape.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing disability and health-related data.
  • Industry-related coursework.
  • Experience with other supplemental health plans.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $43 to $47 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
