Job Description: You will work closely in collaboration with our Associate and Lead Attorneys. Our paralegals are on the front lines of dealing with our top-tier clients directly. Due to the nature of the role, strong written and oral communication skills, along with attention to detail, time management, self-motivation and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of current Texas personal injury rules and regulations including E-Filing, drafting of legal documents and litigation experience is required. Salary range negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Work on various cases from beginning to end, with an emphasis on personal injury. Including pre-litigation, litigation, and trial.
• You will be a part of a paralegal team including a legal nurse/subrogation specialist who will assist you with all aspects of the medical and subrogation portions of the case;
• Communicate with clients on documents needed throughout the case and provide status updates on a monthly basis or more frequently as needed;
• Prepare pre-litigation claims documents such as notices to public entities and notices of intent to sue;
• Prepare and send FOIA requests;
• Prepare case documents, pleadings, deposition notices, subpoenas, discovery, discovery responses, and motions;
• Organize, index, upload, and review production using e-discovery platform programs;
• Draft both liability and damages portions of demand letters, mediation statements and damages packages;
• Calculate and Calendar deadlines and case related events;
• Perform selective research;
• Work with experts directly sending relevant documents for their review including production, depositions, etc.
• Attend, prepare notebooks for, and assist with mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, client interviews, hearings, focus groups, and trials.
• Perform administrative and secretarial functions when needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in Personal Injury or related field
• Strong communication skills, familiarity and experience with Texas and Federal rules of civil procedure, local court rules and litigation calendaring.
• Requirement to work on-site at our beautiful Austin hill-country location with a hybrid option after a 3-month probationary period.
